Mr. Fagains was first introduced to the inner workings of live sound at the young age of fifteen by a group of older friends that had a band. Unfortunately at the time, he didn’t play an instrument that the band required for their music; so he learned how to do multi-track recording and later on editing just to be a part of the band. Over time, the band reached local success in the NYC live music clubs and one day they needed an engineer to mix their show for the night. The many nights of studying books on audio and sound reproduction was about to be put to the test. That night Mr. Fagains rose to the occasion and thus started his audio engineering career……

After that night, Mr. Fagains’ attention swung towards Jazz. Mr. Fagains has “cut his baby teeth” on mixing live Jazz and has mixed a little bit of everything from children’s theater to various artist’s ranging from the best of old school Jazz to a Balinese dance troupe, to Death Metal, to Afropop, to Classical and Reagge…… he has mixed a wide variety of genres of music over his career and there is not a genre that he can not handle.
